Take a look at this video piece outlining the controversy over John McCain's medical records. Some people, especially senior voters, probably view such talk as ageist. I mean, how would any one of us feel if WE were asked for OUR medical records before we could assume a job we were qualified for?
I know I would view it as discrimination. But, then again, I'm not applying for the LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD anytime soon. And neither are you. That's a funny sort of mindset that a good portion of the voting population tends to easily sink into: that we and our leaders should be the same kind of people subjected to the same standards. We'll talk about this more later, but let me ask you this question: Do you know anyone who could be President? I don't and I'm sure my friends wouldn't take offense...because they would say the same thing.
The job of the President is too important for voters NOT to know what medications John McCain takes and why he takes them. He made the CHOICE to run for President and he owes us the truth. That's just how it goes.
And, "releasing" his records for three hours to a select few people who can't use any form of electronics for copying or relaying purposes is NOT honest. That kind of event just shows that MCCAIN feels he has something to hide.
One last thought: If you believed that Sarah Palin's "experience" and qualifications didn't matter before because she's "just the VP nominee", what are you thinking now?
