Have you ever seen Zelig? It's a mockumentary by Woody Allen about a guy who has a strange affliction that renders him a human chameleon. If he is in the room with someone for any length of time, he begins to take on that person's physical characteristics. The more I think about that movie, the more I believe Woody Allen COULD have been thinking about politicians when he made it. And, sure, that's no real insight. In fact, it's cliche.
Nevertheless, it still shocks me when the evidence of a politician's chameleon-like qualities is thrust in front of me. Call me a (sigh) trusting soul.
