A candidate or pundit or voter can gripe all they want about "pork barrel spending", but looking at this list, I'd rather have my tax money go to those programs and items than to see it flushed away on defense spending that we don't need.
And if you think I'm being some sort of hippie dove on the "War on Terror", you might want to ask the government why they're spending billions on new submarines and upgraded fighter jets to fight stateless terrorists who don't even have access to one such vehicle.
